Christa Kuljian
grew up in Boston in the U.S. She now lives in Johannesburg with her
husband and two daughters. After spending a year in SA back in 1984, she
worked as a Foreign Policy Aide for Senator Edward Kennedy in Washington
D.C. and as a researcher in Zimbabwe. In 1992, she opened the SA office
of the C. S. Mott Foundation and remained its Director until 2003. The
Mott Foundation provided funding and support to NGOs working on human
rights, women's development, racism and reconciliation as well as support
for civil society more broadly. She continues to work on development and
development funding issues with a base at the Centre for Policy Studies.
Tired of writing reports, board papers and memos, she began a Masters
in Creative Writing at Wits in 2005. This is one of her first attempts
at poetry. |
