Lisa Combrinck
is the Director of Media Research at the Department of Foreign Affairs. Her poems have been widely anthologised. She has read her poetry at conferences and festivals in South Africa, Zimbabwe, the United Kingdom, Germany and Norway. Some of the posts she has held in the past are Books Editor and columnist for the Sowetan, assistant editor for the Southern African Review of Books, arts and education reporter for the South newspaper, lecturer in the English Department of Vista University and media liaison officer and spokesperson for the Minister of Communications. She is also an experienced speechwriter and has served in this capacity in the Office of the President in Pretoria. She was Vice-President of the Congress of South African Writers, as well as the first Chair of the Literature Panel of the National Arts Council of South Africa. She obtained her postgraduate degrees from the University of Cape Town. An Infinite Longing for Love, Lisa's poetry collection, was published in 2005 by Skotaville Media Publications.
