The 5FM / MTN Boys & Girls premiere parties are here

The battle of the sexes will surface in full force when Boys & Girls is released in South Africa at the end of January 2001. By popular public demand — 5FM, MTN and Li’l Dave’s Big Co. are teaming up to bring you an exclusive South African first: The 5FM/MTN Boys & Girls Premiere parties. These special parties for under-18s will take place in key SA cities to celebrate the cinematic release of Boys & Girls, starring Freddie Prinze Jr., Jason Biggs and Claire Forlani.

Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town are gearing up to host the parties of the new millennium. The evenings will each kick off with the South African premiere of Boys & Girls at 21H30. Thereafter, 5FM’s resident party jocks Sasha Martinengo and Ian F will set the dancefloors alight with blazing tunes to get all the boys and girls into the party groove.

The dates and venues for the premiere parties are:

  • Friday, January 26 Ster-Kinekor The Zone (Rosebank, JHB)
  • Friday, February 2 Ster-Kinekor Brooklyn Mall (PTA)
  • Friday, February 9 Nu-Metro Canal Walk (CT)

Tickets are limited and available exclusively through Ticketweb. Only under-18s will be allowed to attend the parties and no alcohol will be allowed.

Tickets are R50 each per event — this will include a free popcorn and Coke, a movie and a thumping dance party, plus great give-aways

“Safety” and “fun” will be the keywords at all the parties.

Another first for Boys & Girls in South Africa is that the film will receive a platform release. This means that it will be released on different dates in the different regions of South Africa. The “platform release” dates for Boys & Girls are:

  • 26 January Johannesburg & Bloemfontein
  • 2 February Pretoria and Kwa-Zulu Natal
  • 9 February Eastern and Western Cape

Boys and girls from Bloemfontein, Durban or Port Elizabeth don’t need to feel left out. There are special Boys & Girls premieres coming their way the day before the release of the film in each region.

Keep listening to 5FM — The Entertainment Authority — for more details on the 5FM / MTN Boys & Girls Premiere Parties, brought to you by 5FM, MTN and Li’l Dave’s Big Co.
