THE TANGIER PRIZE FOR POETIC CREATION

In order to promote artistic creativity and ensure cultural communication, the Association des Jeunes Créateurs de Tanger has organised the 6th poetry contest in April 2004, in honour of the greatArab poets MIKHA’IL NOUAIMA of Lebanon and MOHAMMED SEBBAGH of Morocco.

The contest is open to young creators less than 35 years old, writing in the following languages:

— Arabic
— French
— English
— Spanish.

The panel of judges will be composed of writers and university professors, who will take care of the evaluation of the works presented and award the prizes.

Prizes

  • Prize for the collection of poems placed first: 5000 dh.
    · (in every one of the languages of the contest) ·

  • Prize for the poem placed first: 2500 dh.
    (in every one of the languages of the contest)

    Conditions
    #61623: A written request for participation including address, fax or e-mail address.
    #61623: A certified photocopy of the participant’s identity card
    #61623: 2 photographs
    #61623: 2 typewritten or printed copies of the collection of poems presented (edited within the last 4 years)
    #61623: 3 copies of the poem (only one text is accepted in the contest)
    #61623: A statement that the participant has not been granted any award for the poem or collection submitted.

    Requests for participation may be submitted from 3rd October 2003 until 3rd February 2004 to the following address:

    The Association has the right to edit the selected poems and the collections of poems, in accordance with Article 9 of the Tangier Prize for Poetic Creation and Article 4 of the AJC statute.
